REQUIREMENTS IN PHYSIOLOGY FOR STUDENTS OF PHARMACY

1.The Physiology course includes lectures and laboratory practicals. Individual learning is also essential. The students demonstrate their knowledge at interim demonstrations, end semester exam, and final examination.

2. The students are required to attend the lectures and advised to take notes there.

3. The students are to be prepared for and take an active part in the weekly laboratory practicals. Students MUST attend the lectures and the practicals in accordance with the guidelines of the University (see Curriculum). Students with excess absence (4 practicals) are not permitted to sit for the exams, and they loose the semester.

4. The students will undergo interim demonstrations during each semester. The students must pass these demonstrations otherwise the Book of Study Certificate is not signed.

5. Students who show negligence during the semester concerning visiting the lectures, seminaries, laboratory practicals and preparing for the MTO's, will not receive a signature.

6. The students should take part in the practicals with a good background knowledge of the topics involved. They must be prepared to demonstrate their preparedness in oral and written tests.

7. The students should prepare notes on their work and results at the laboratory practicals. These notes are signed by the supervisor at the end of laboratory session and to be presented to the examiner at the end-semester and final exams.

8. At the end of every semester, the students will receive marks between 1 and 5 according to their diligence and effectiveness in demonstrations and laboratory practicals.

9. The end semester examination consists of a test. The students may sit for an oral exam to improve their grade on the day of the test. The time for preparation for an oral exam is max. 20 min.

10. The final examination consists of a written test and an oral examination.
